The Ultimate Food Scouts Guide to Barcelona: 7th August – 13th August 2017

Watching Game of Thrones tonight and wondering how you might be able to make your evening’s edibles more festive? Well, Croqueteca (3 Passatge Corsega) might have just the thing with their Game of Thrones themed croquette menu and special price of only €5 for 6 croquettes, one for each house in the show.

If you need to watch Game of Thrones in public surrounded by people, Irish Bar, Shenanigans continue their weekly big screen viewing.

Unfortunately, there’s thunderstorms forecast for today so who knows if this one will actually go ahead. But, for only €3.50 you can head to nearby Cerdanyola del Vallès for a Mexican Cake Baking Class in a garden, hosted by El Jardin de Toby, you can find more info on their Facebook.

Head North today for a craft beer adventure, for €15, you can join Eventours Girona on their Craft Beer Tour of small brewery Popaire in Blanes. The tour lasts up to 2 hours and includes four beers and tapas. We haven’t heard of this brewery before but their bottles look appealing, so we’ll have to check them out.

Looking for a workout with a bit of a twist, if you have the stamina to keep up with the deceptively difficult Vinyasa Flow style of Yoga, you can take a class on a rooftop today accompanied by a live cello performance and followed by  a green smoothie created by a talented chef. It’s €25 and taking place at OneOcean Port Vell Barcelona (26 Carrer Escar)

DGTL Barcelona starts today, a techno and electronic music festival. We can’t comment more than that as it’s not our usual scene, but if it is your thing, it’s happening, go check it out!

If you’re looking for something a little more chilled (and in doors because there’s air conditioning and it’s fucking hot) head to Olgod (47 Carrer Hospital) for craft beer, good food and DJs spinning vinyl, this is more our scene. DJs kick off at 10pm, but the bar is open beforehand too.

This sounds interesting, Foodisms are running their second collaboration with local farmers with this great event concept. For only €15-25 you can spend the day on a beautiful farm in nearby Masnou to harvest your own ingredients, before sharing a meal together with locally produced eco wine. Sounds pretty awesome to us and it won’t break the bank.

If you have bread on the mind (because it’s fucking delicious) you might dig up the dough (see what we did there) to attend this Focaccia Baking Workshop hosted by Italian Kitchen Workshops (24 Carrer del Pintor Fortuny), just €12 gets you your cooking class, food and wine between 5pm-7pm. Nice.

Looking for this week’s craft beer fix? Mikkeller (202 Carrer de Valencia) are launching their new brunch menu today from 12 noon, there’s no news of what will be included, but we love brunch and we love Mikkeller, so this sounds like a good shout.

Looking for a chilled out bar vibe for your Sunday? Aperol Spritz are hosting a free DJ session at their bar today (2 Passeig d’Isabel II) very close to the beach. They’ll be tapas and snacks as well as plenty of glasses of the orange stuff.

We haven’t featured this one before, but Brunch in the Park is a series of weekly events happening at Joan Brossa Gardens. The events focus on electronic music isn’t immediately our thing, but the event also promised food trucks, emerging designers and workshops for kids. So maybe Brunch in the Park is more than just the rave we thought it was. It starts at 1pm and ticket are between €11-22 depending on how quickly you book and it’s happening every Sunday, so you’ve plenty of time to get involved if this appeals.
